We recommend that these slabs be designed using a <br /> modulus of subgrade reaction of 150 pounds per cubic inch. The slabs <br /> should not be �attached to the building by mechanical connections or <br /> reinforcing steel . <br /> Pavement Subgrade <br /> The borings in the areas that will be paved indicate variable soil <br /> conditions, including silty sand, sandy silt, and clayey silt below the <br /> .
