There shall be no more than four temporary business signs issued per calendar year,and for a period oFnot more than ten days per <br /> time or of the duration of the event promoted by Uie sign message,wl�ichever is less.The sign(including banners or balloons),sign supports or <br /> portable stand shall be removed from public view at Uie end of die period.Total area of the sign shall not exceed 32 square feet per surface(64 <br /> square feet total signage allowed for two-sided portable sign).Advertising balloons are not subject to area restrictions but must meet all <br /> applicable federal and state standazds. <br /> b. There shall be no more than one temporary sign in any required yard area,a�id,if separate multiple signs are proposed,the total area <br /> of the signs shall not erceed 32 square feet.Temporary business signs require a building permit from Uie city.No such permit shall be issued by <br /> the city if a conditional use permit under section 78-1467(I)c has been issued to a residential property.No temporary sign shall be allowed in <br /> residential zones unless per�nitted as election or sale signs under this section.Multitenant buildings shall be consideced as a single propercy for <br /> purposes ofsubsection(8)of this section;and the use of the single temporary business sign by tenants on the property shall be the responsibility <br /> of the property owner or designa[ed manager,who shall endorse in writing all applications for sign pem�its. <br /> c. The owner or manager of the sign and the owner of the property shall be equally responsible for the proper location,maintenance and <br /> removal of the sign.All temporary signs shall be located on a property so that they do not impede safety by obstructing vision of pedestrians or <br /> motor vehicle operators. <br /> Sec.78-1468.Signs in B and 1 districts. <br /> Within the B and 1 districts,nameplate signs and business signs are permitted subject to the following regulations: <br /> (I) B-I,B-2 and B-4:size.Within the B-1,B-2 a��d B-4 districts,the aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not <br /> exceed the sum of one square foot for each front foot of building,plus one square 1'oot for each front foot of lot not occupied by a building.No <br /> individual sign shall eaceed 50 square feet. <br /> (2) B-3:size.Within the B-3 district,tlie aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not exceed tlie sum of tour square <br /> feet per front foo[of building,plus one square foot per front foot of property not occupied by a building.No individual sign surFace shall exceed <br /> l00 square feet. <br /> (3) 1:size.W ithin any I district,the aggregate square footage of sign space per lot shall not exceed the sum of f'our square leet <br /> per front foot of building,plus one square foot per front foot of property not occupied by a building.No individual sign surl'ace shall exceed IOU <br /> square feet. <br /> (4) B-I,B-2 and B-4:height.Within the B-I,B-2 and B-4 districts,no sign shall extend in height more than two feel above d�e <br /> highest outside wall or parapet of any principal building,nor shall any sign be located closer than ten feet from any property line;e�cept tha[any <br /> sign over ten square feet may project two feet into any required yard area from the principal building. <br /> (5) B-3 and I:height.Within any B-3 or 1 disUict,no sign shall extend in height more than six feet in lieight above die highest <br /> uutside wall or parapet of a��y principal building.No sign shall be located closer than ten feet from any property line,ercept U�at any sign <br /> eaceeding ten square feet may project only two feet into the yard area from any building. <br /> (Code 1984,� 10.61(3)) <br /> Please Note: Tl�is is only an application for a permit.
