Co., MN
This site has an existing on-site sewage treatment system which is Gassified as failed
due to not meeting the required 3' separation from the bottom of the system and the
saturated soil. Soil borings into the system found the top of the rock at 12" to 18" below
the surFace with the bottom of the rock 30"to 36" below the ground surface. The
original tests and design compieted by S-P Testing, Inc. on June 12, 1984 logged
rrottled soil at 4-1/2' below the ground surface and the system was designed with the
bottom 18" below the ground surFace. The system was also installed downslope of the
original tests.
This On-Site Sewage Treatment System is Designed for a Type 1, 6 bedroom home, (3
at present - adding 3) in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
Chapter 7080 and local ordinances.
The soils on this site are SCS soils mapped - LrC - Lester loam. The seasonally
saturated soils were located at 34" to 54". The bottom of the treatment area must be
located at least 3' above the seasonally saturated soits. An At-Grade system may be
installed for the proposed site. Two At-Grades will be installed side by side with equal
distribution on the slopes, see attached work sheet. A pressurized mound system will
be needed for the future expansion site.
The At-Grade System wil! need to be on a 7o slope which will require City approvat, a
maximum of 6% is required. The future site is on a 7.5% slope and will need to be 10'
from the property line along Co.Rd.6 which will also require approval from the City of
Orono.
1
