By the rules set forth in MPCA
Chapter 7080,the septic system is failing to protect to ground water, since an inspection
revealed that rnottling of the soil was at 20 inches.
T'hc property docs hZvc a couplc of possibilitics for an oi2sitc systcm, but doing so would
greatly reduce the property value. The first site is where a$100,000 par 3 golf course sits
on the property, thc homeowner is adamant about not u.sing that site. The other site is
hcavily woodcd to thc point of littic or no grass covcr. A ncw systcm is not possiblc
witi out removing a large portion of the forest. Deforestation would be needed not only
for the septic system site but alsa the surrounding area to insure proper evaporation.
Deforestatian would result in drastically changing the characteristics of the lot and would
most likely degrade the property value. The third site is the cunent system site. The
cxcavation of thc cuncnt systcm would most likcly intcrccpt tlic spriiigs folind on 1669
North Farm Road and increase the risk of the system's long term performance. It is the
inspector's opinion this would be a bad choice at best for a new system.
It is my profcssional opinion that connecting the housc to thc municipal systcm that runs
through or near the lot is the only viable choice for long term protection of the
environment and human health.
Sincerely,
Cr {'C,P3
Mark J Hayes
MPCA#L3203 MPCA#C5013
POB 771 ° Maple Lake, MN 55358
Phone: 320-980-6218 www.mngeos.com
