I know you have dealt with
questions on the property in the past. It has a unique setup. It has the lot with the house on it(property id# 07-117-23-14-
0060)and then you go across the street and over about 150 yards and then go down to the lake lot(property id#07-117-
23-14-0027). My neighbor(Pete Danakis)who lives in 1153 Elmwood Ave and borders my lake lot(property id number
07-117-23-14-0027) has lived in his house a little over a year now. Yesterday he came to me and told me that he owns
the property I have to go across to get to my property. Which is true according to the property lines. According to the
property lines he also owns the road he told me. Elmwood Ave actually runs through his driveway and garage according
to the plot maps. According to the plot maps Elmwood Ave is on his property. I want access to my lake lot from the street
through city property without him being able dictate who goes on my property. That is what he is trying to do right now.
Since we have to go across the corner of his lot to get to my property he is trying to dictate who can cross it. I do not feel
this is right.
Also he said a guy who lived in 1153 Elwood Ave for 25 years used my Lake Lot(property id # 07-117-23-14-0027)to
drive down (I have a gravel driveway on my lake lot) and deliver stuff to his house. He told me because of this he has a
legal right to drive on my property and deliver stuff down to his walkout basement. He has been delivering stuff down to
his walkout basement all summer and I have had no problem with it. He informed me last night that I cannot park or block
this parking spot on the bottom of my gravel driveway because it will block his access to get to his house eventhough it is
in the middle of my lake lot.
Any insight or documentation the city has on file for this would be helpful. He said he has documentation showing me that
he has the right to use my property to drive down to get to his walkout basement even though he goes about 100 yards
across the middle of my property. If there is documentation on this I would appreciate you sending it to me. If you are not
the correct person to talk to about this can you point me in the right direction to someone who is. If it would be easier to
meet you in person and show you exactly what I am talking about I could do that. I just want to be able to access my
property from the city road legally and I want to be able to put stuff on my own driveway without him telling me I cannot
block my property in the middle of my lot.
I have attached a survey of my property for your reference.
Thanks for your help
Ryan Alness
952-452-0699
----- Original Message----
From: Melanie Curtis <MCurtisCuci.orono.mn.us>
To: Ryan A. <rvanainessCcvahoo.com>
Sent: Thu, April 5, 2007 1:51:08 PM
Subject: RE: 1169 North Arm Drive
Ryan, I have attached information regarding this property. Please read the attached information.
Yes a dock is an appropriate accessory use to a principal building (home). The use of the dock is restricted to an owner
or occupant of the property.
Melanie
-----Original Message-----
1
