RECV
Ms. Melanie Curtis AU 2
C/,
Planning & Zoning Coordinator FORN
City of Orono
Municipal Offices
2750 Kelley Parkway
Orono MN 55356
Dear Ms. Curtis,
Thank you for your letter sent certified 7007 2680 0002 3457 1754 and dated
August 13, 2010. I visited your office on August 16, 2010 to view the photographs
referenced by the letter. I have questions concerning your letter.
Where in City Code Sections 58-1(a), 58-3 and 78-1577 would the code prevent
the owner from using the property to meet with family and friends to enjoy the
lakeside ambiance, to use the property to grill and eat picnic-style, to conduct after
dark gatherings azound the open fire in the fire pit, or to fish in the lake?
Once we understand your answer we should be able to meet and return our property
to compliance.
Our family has lived on the property approximately 25 years so I anticipate that
periods of transition may have resulted in brief periods of disarray of, say, docking
materials when the dock is seasonally extended or removed. I will certainly review
providing different screening modes along the property lines to provide privacy,
neamess, and security of our personal property.
One of the property lines is shared with the city along Elm street and is the site of
public boat launchings. We have "No trespassing" posted but would appreciate the
enforcement of"No Parking" signs to ensure access to our off-street parking.
Sinc rel
ohn L. Berg
650 Minnetonka Highlands Lane
Long Lake, MN 55356
