Buckthorn is a known invader in the landscapes of Minnesota. It's dense, eazly leaf
blocks sunlight and inhibits the emergence of native flora In Minnesota. This is turn reduces
habitat and food sources for beneficial wildlife(few animals eat the berries they produce).
Eradication of Buckthorn is a key step in re-establishing native, sustainable vegetative habitat.
Routine maintenance to existing tree cover on the property in question;in the form of trimming
dead growth, pruning for shape and health promotes a healthy ecology in the forest canopy.
Removal of dead and/or diseased trees will enable the existing forest canopy to grow more
vigorous and provide appropriate habitat for wildlife such as song bird as well as provide a better
landscape aesthetic in the form of a richer, lush growth
Sincerely,
David Ruoho
B.E.D.,M.L.A.,Cert.MNLA L.D.
