Winston statod when he was asked to look <br /> at this project,he was impr�ssed by Staff's re}�ort. Winston noted Staff is ia full support of the plan and <br /> has racommended its approval. Winston stated he was also impressed by the planning Commission's <br /> recommendation,which was 6�0 in favor of the project. Winston statead in lus experience wozki�g on <br /> applicatiana,he has always ft�und Staff and the Plannix�g Commiasion to be very comprehensive,verY <br /> respansible,ai►d very precise in t,heir r�ommendations. <br /> Winstan stated he also had an opportunity to view the hearin�the City Cauncil had on this matt�r a few <br /> woeks away. Win�ton notod moat of the comments stayed away finm the variance issue and that the <br /> concera seemed to be limited to hardcover and sctback. Winst+o�stated this apglication is in cc�nupliance <br /> with bofh of those issues. <br /> �4s it relates to the legal isswas,Winston stated the applic�nt is in a great position before the Council <br /> tonight since there dves not seam to be much oppositivn to the variances and there is Planning <br /> Commission and Staff approval. <br /> Winston atated he haa perso�nsal experience with this builder and that he cited in an o-mail to the Mayar the <br /> w�ample of a residence ov�er on Stubbs Bay whcre the same builder built a hvme with a circular driveway. <br /> �Vin$ton stated as he gets older,he finds it is easier to have an easy in and an casy ont,wiuch thre cireular <br /> driveway allows. Winston stated in hig view that type of driveway is safer far olc�er people to navigate <br /> an�1 doss not rec�uire PaoPle to bacle out onto the rnad. In addition,it helps to eliminate pasking on the <br /> atneet. <br /> Wir�ston stated in his view the builder and designer have done a wondGrful job making this work on a <br /> very narmw lat and that the lot oompels the variances. Winstan stated the design works for the family <br /> atid the builder. <br /> Tashitaa Tufaa's son stated he attended the Pl�nning Cosamission meeting appro�cimately two months <br /> ago. �faa s�tated at that time he presented his re,�sons for why his family should be abie to move into the <br /> (hono communitY• Tufaa stated in order to acco�mma�ate the needs of the Hesitage neighborhood,they <br /> he►ve given up te.n feet of lakeshore,which was dif�c�lt for their family to do,and tbat they}�ve also <br /> given up six inches ef fencing that was proposed for the safety of his brother.
