. . .
Melanie Curtis
From: Melanie Flessner <melanie.flessner@gmail.com>
Sent: Friday, October 21, 2016 7:14 AM
To: Melanie Curtis;Adam Edwards; loftus@ci.orono.mn.us
Cc: Bruce Flessner; Steve Byrnes
Subject: Re:Trees being removed this morning--Your assistance is needd
Dear Melanie Curtis:
Bruce Flessner referred your note to me and I am raising some concerns and comments for you and
Mr. Edwards on the additional trees Mr. Tufa seeks to remove.
• Mr. Tufa has already removed at least 9 trees from Heritage Lane yesterday. Taking more trees is not a
good idea.
• Mr. Tufa knew he did not have permission to remove those trees, but the action stopped only because of
the quick response by the city and police. We appreciate everyone's quick response.
• It's almost November, so the replanting of the 91ost trees onto Heritage Lane will need to be immediate
or we will not be seeing snow covered pine trees but a pile of constxuction dirt and tree stumps.
• Fox Hill maintained this right of way property for over 50 years.
• The idea that the trees interfere with power lines degrades the great work of Excel Energy and their
wonderful teams who have trimmed these trees.
We ask that nothing happen until a plan can be reviewed. We all live here all winter and have been
more than patient with the trucks, cars, noise and dirt.
Many thanks to everyone at city hall for your quick response.
Sincerely,
Melanie Flessner
1
