CogUill and Jeiuzifer A. Cogbill, husband and wife <br /> (hereinafter "the applicants") are the owners of the property located at 1590 Lon� Lake <br /> Boulevard within the City of Orono (hereinafter the "City") and legally described as follows: <br /> Lot 12, Block 1, JOHNSTONS REARRANGEMENT OF ALBEES LONG <br /> LAKE ADDITION Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter the "property"); <br /> and <br /> W�IEREAS, the applicants have made application to the �ity of Orono for a <br /> variance to Orono Municipal Zonin� Code Section 305 Subdivision B to allow a side yard <br /> setback of 21' where 30' is normally required in order to construct a wider staircase to the <br /> basement in their existing home. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br /> Minnesota: <br /> FINDINGS <br /> l. This application was reviewed as Zoning File 07-3253. <br /> 2. The property is located in the LR — lA, Lakeshore Residential Zoning District <br /> which requires a minimum lot area of 2.0 acres and a minimum lot width of 200'. <br /> 3. The Planning Commission reviewed this application at a public hearing held on <br /> January 16, 2007 and recommended approval of a variance to allow a 22.5'side <br /> setback based on the following findings: <br /> a. The property contains 21,403 s.f. in area and has 50' in width at the street and <br /> 69' in width at the 50' principal structure setback. <br /> b.
