A 32ESOLUTIOPI MEMORIALIZING TfiG CUUNTY HIGHWAY <br /> FNGItdFI�R AND TIIE COUNPY B011RD TO REMOVE CERTAIPi <br /> FARALLEL P�IRKII�IG SIGNS IN THI� BUSINESS DISTRICT <br /> OF THE VILLAGE UF ORONOa <br /> WFIFRFAS, the County of IIennepin h�.s erected two para.11el parking <br /> si�;n^ on the 4dest s:ide of County road. 19 irnmediately north o:f its inter- <br /> section with County road lj; and <br /> WHEftEAS, Count�= Road 19 is fotu� lanes in wi_dth at said point and <br /> t.he F>a,z•king l�ep,ir�s at a point to the Tdorth of sai.d intersection a suffi- <br /> cient distance so that there is no interference with sight if diagonal <br /> parking is continued, and the pavement is of siffucient width and the vol- <br /> ume of traffic is suc�� that at this particular location there would be no <br /> hr�zr�.rd but said dia�;onal parking would in all thin�s be compatible with <br /> s�.fety; and <br /> WH�tFAS, parking in the business district of the Vil.lage of Orono <br /> is inadequate and will be reduced� to no �ood purpo�e, at this said point <br /> if parallel parkin� signs are not removed; and <br /> WHEREA.S, in the area covered b,y said signs three (3) cars can park <br /> diagonally but only one can parY parallel and it is the only convenient <br /> parkirig space serving a business establishment, to-wit: the Hub Barber Shop; <br /> and <br /> WI�LE;FAS, ttie said reduction in parking space if said parallel park- <br /> ing signs are not removed, would work a great hardship and would be detri- <br /> mental to the public good arid convenience, and to no good purpose; <br /> NOW THEREFURE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Cbunci:L of Orono: <br /> That it hexeby respectfully and earnestly petition the County Engineer <br /> and the County Board to forthwith remove said parallel parking signs on the <br /> i�lest side of County road 19 just nori;herly of its intersection with County <br /> road 15; and be it <br /> FURZ'�1I�2 P,ESOLUID that in the ever�.t said parallel parking signs are <br /> s•emoved, the Villa�A will unde.rtake to c�use to be painted pa.rallel diagonal+ <br /> stripes so as to cause ears par•lting thez�e to park at an arigle; arid be it <br /> FUI?TIIL;R fiESULVLD that said pa.rall_el parking si�n be moved to the North <br /> ,Y., ,. �;, <br /> �'' , �:�'. <br /> ; . � `• w <br /> �. , ,j,' <br /> i. _ A`�. .
