WISCHMEIER PROPERTY FIELD REVIEW
Field Review
Wetland 1: Wetland 1 is a Type 1, PEM1A, seasonally flooded basin. There is no discemable outlet; this
basin appears to be hydrologically isolated. Overall, the wetland vegetation is dominated by duckweed
(Lemna minor). The underlying soils are mapped as Lester loam (L22C2). The investigated soil profile met
the 2cm muck (A10), depleted below dark surface (A11), and depleted matrix (F3) hydric soil indicators.
Hydrology indicators observed include surface water (A1), sparsely vegetated concave surface (B8),
geomorphic position(D2), and the FAC-Neutral Test(D5).
The upland buffer surrounding the wetland is a primarily vegetated sugar maple (Acer saccharum). The
transition between the upland and the wetland varies between moderate slopes and steep slopes.
The project area is located adjacent to Lake Minnetonka. The shoreline associated with the project area is
bound by riprap.
WETLAND ASSESSMENT
540 BIG ISLAND
ORONo,MN
MAY 2017
