Based on our conversation of your interests and the site data I collected
during my site visit I have developed a design plan for thevestern edge of your propert}to include a
permeable paving area and raingarden.
Soil samples taken from 3our front yard shov a loam}sand consistency to a depth of 4 feet. This
soil rype provides a significant infiltration capacity capable of exfiltrating readily below the paver base
(percolating into subsoil /groundwater). This soIl texture will also allow for effective infiltration
within the designed raingarden. There are many permeable pavers options in terms of color, shape
and surface texture for you to choose fxom thatvould provide equal capacity for capturing and
infiltrating stortmvater runoff. Locally available products include: Uni Eco-.rtore,Borgert Agua-Bic,
Anchor Holland Grand Permenble and Willow Creek Brickstone pemeable and Agua-loc permeable.
Installarion of the permeable pavers and the adjacent raingarden will provide a net reduction in
runoff from}our property including all water pitched off the southern edge oE you drivewaand any
vater falling in the front}ard of your property between the house and Linda Loma Ave. In addition
vater channeled off of the bituminous roadway on Linda Loma will be captured and infiltrated in the
raingarden until the garden reaches it reaches its maximum ponding depth, atvhich point street
runoff will by-pass the garden and continue on its previous path along the street gutter.
Please feel free to contact mevith any questions.
Thank you,
Wadc A Johnson
Landscape Restoration Specialist
Metro Conservation Districts
763-286-G985
ade.iuhnsoncrineuocd.or;
1318 MCKAY DRivE NE• HAM LAKE,MN • 55304
PHONE:763-434-2030 • FAX:763-434-2094
1
