Based on our conversation of your interests and the site data I collected
during my site visit I have developed a design plan for thevestern edge of your propexty to include a
permeable paving area and raingarden.
Soil samples taken from your front yard shov a loamy sand consistenry to a depth of 4 feet. This
soil type provides a significant infiltration capacity capable of exftltrating readily belov the paver base
(percolating into subsoil/groundwater). This soil texturevill also allov for effective infiltration
vithin the designed xaingarden. There are many permeable pavers options in terms of color, shape
and surface texture for you to choose from thatvould provide equal capacity for capturing and
infiltrating stormvater runoff. Localljavailable products include: Uni Ec•o-.rtone,Borgert Agua-Bic;
Anchor Hol/and Grand Pe»reab/e and Willow Creek Brickstone peteable and Aqua-/oc per-meable.
Installation of the permeable pavers and the adjacent raingardenvill provide a net reduction in
runoff from your property including allvater pitched off the southern edge of you drivevap and any
vater falling in the front yard of your pxoperty behveen the house and Linda Loma Ave. In addition
vater channeled off of the bituminous roadway on Linda Loma will be captured and infiltrated in the
raingarden until the garden reaches it reaches its maxirrium ponding depth, atvhich point street
runoffvill by-pass the garden and continue on its previous path along the street gutter.
Please feel free to contact mevith any questions.
Thank jou,
!,
Wade A Johnson
Landscape Restoration Specialist
Metro Conservation Districts
763-286-6985
vade.ohnsoti(metrocd.org
1 318 MCKAY DRIVE NE• HAM LAKE,MN • 55304
PHONE:763-434-2030 • FAx:763-434-2094
1
