MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 12, 1985. PAGE 11 <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br /> CRIME PREVENTION FUND <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Adams, seconded by Mayor <br /> Butler, to approve appointment of five people to serve as <br /> charter board members for the Orono Crime Prevention Fund as <br /> � submitted and recommended by staff . Motion, Ayes ( 3 ) , Nays <br /> (0 ) . <br /> LEAF COMPOSTING <br /> It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br /> Adams, to accept staff ' s recommendation to proceed with the <br /> proposed leaf composting program. Motion, Ayes ( 3 ) , Nays <br /> (0 ) . <br /> BIG ISLAND VETERAN'S CAMP <br /> City Administrator Bernhardson submitted Resolutions for <br /> hazardous building proceedingsfor all the buildings on Big <br /> Island, and recommended the Council adopt them. <br /> Mr. Joe Backes, a Big Island property owner, and Mr. Jim Lund, <br /> representing the Veterans of Foreign Wars, were present for <br /> this matter. <br /> Mr. Lund requested the Council to postpone filing the <br /> resolutions with District Court because joint efforts are <br /> being made by the Board of Governors and State to bring these <br /> hazardous buildings into compliance. Mr. Lund stated <br /> that they are working on the funding at this time. <br /> City Administrator Bernhardson recommended tabling this <br /> matter for two weeks based on Mr. Lund' s information and to <br /> avoid unnecessary court costs . <br /> It was moved by Mayor Butler, seconded by Councilmember <br /> Frahm, to adopt staff ' s recommendation to table this matter <br /> for two weeks . Motion, Ayes ( 3 ) , Nays (0 ) . <br /> CONTRIBUTION REQUEST <br /> WEST ARM TREATMENT <br /> City Administrator Bernhardson reviewed his memo dated <br /> August 9 , 1985 regarding a contribution request for <br /> treatments of West Arm. Staff has recommended this item be <br /> tabled indefinitely. <br /> FRITZLER/PETERSON* <br /> DEDICATION OF RIGHT OF WAY <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Adams, seconded by <br /> Councilmember Frahm, to accept dedication of (Chippewa Lane ) <br /> road right-of-way per staf f ' s recommendation. Motion, Ayes <br /> ( 3 ) , Nays ( 0 ) . <br />
