Access to data by individual. Upon requesc to a nsponsible authority,an iadividuai shaU be informed whether he is the subject of swred data on i�ividuals,and whe[her it is clusified as public,private or confidendal. Upon his further request,an individual who is the subjecc of smred private or public data on individuals shall be shown rhe data withouc any charge to him and;if he desires,shall be infocmed of[he concenc and meaning of[hat dara. Afur an individual has been shown the priva[e data aud infermed of irs mesain8.the data need n°t be disclosed co hun for six months thereafur unless a dispuce or acdon pursuanc to this secaon is pending or addidonal data on the individuat has been wllecud or creaaed. The responsible auihoriey shall provide copies of the private or public data upon request by the individual subject of the data. The responsible suthoriry may require the requesting person to pay the acaal costs of making,cerafying.and compiling the copies. • The responsible auchoricy shali comply irtunediately,if possible,wich any reQues�t made Pursuant W this subdivision,or wichin five days of the date of the requesc,excluding Samrdays,Sundays and legal holidays,if immediace compliaace is not possible. Procedure when data it not accurate or complete. M individual tnay contest the accuncy or completeness of public or private dara conceming himself. To exercise chis righ4�individual shall aoafy in wridng the tespocuible authority describing che aacure of the disagreement. The responsible authoriry shall within 30 days either: (a)correct the data found to be inaccunte or incomplete and attempt to nodfy past recipienu of inaccurate or incomplete data, i�luding recipieats named by che individual:or(b)nodfy the individual thac he believes the data to be correcc. Data in dispute shail be disclosed only if the individual's statemenc of disagreemenc is included with che disclosed data. The determination of the responsible authoriry may be appealed Qursuant w the provisions of the adminisccative procedure act relating to contesud cases.
