Christine Mattson
From: Chase Vanderbilt <cvanderbilt@minnehahacreek.org>
Sent: Tuesday, November 28, 2017 4:12 PM
To: Christine Mattson
Subject: RE: 797 &799 Bridgewater Drive
Hi Chris!
So sorry I didn't get back to on this. I was able to make it out to the site and it does seem like they may have dipped into
the buffer. With that said, the buffer declaration that the subdivision developer declared with the county is not entirely
clear in the exact location of this issue. So, if we're both comfortable with it, this wouldn't be something that I would
require them to make any major changes on the landscape as they might end up doing more harm than good to the
adjacent wetland. They have installed the buffer signs on the property(which is a feat in itself), so I was pretty happy to
see that. Also, unfortunately, we are not holding an financial assurance for this subdivision or single lot(s), so we're kind
of left without any"teeth" in the situation.
With all of that said, if this is something you'd like to pursue further I will gladly back you and provide any assistance
necessary to do so. So, let me know if I'm totally off base or if you need anything else on this one. Thanks!
r .,.,,r, , Chase Vanderbilt
0'-, District Representative
Minnehaha Creek Watershed District
0 Direct 952.641.4580
' „ 15320 Minnetonka Blvd., Minnetonka, MN 55345
www.minnehahacreek.org
MINA'--EHAHA MEI(
WATERSHED otsru[T
From:Christine Mattson [mailto:CMattson@ci.orono.mn.us]
Sent:Tuesday, November 28, 2017 3:08 PM
To: Chase Vanderbilt<cvanderbilt@minnehahacreek.org>
Subject: RE: 797 &799 Bridgewater Drive
Hi Chase,
I was wondering if you made it out to 797 &799 Bridgewater Drive last week? Attached is a copy of the exhibit
submitted to Wooddale Builders showing their original, proposed retaining wall was within the wetland buffer. They
moved the walls and submitted a conforming plan, which we approved.
Attached is a copy of the updated as-built survey, including the email from the surveyor stating the retaining wall is
within the wetland buffer.
I have asked the builder to contact the Stonebay HOA for their comments/approval on the retaining walls within the
common areas.
