C ITY OF OROr10 PnIrTUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING 7 : 30 P.M. Special Meeting of the Orono Council , September 16 , 1982 . The Orono Council met on the above date with the following members present : Councilmember Hurr , Adams, Frahm, and Butler. Also Present : City Finance Director Kuehn, and City Administrator Benson . Absent: Mayor Van Nest. City Admini- strator Benson announced that Norm Paurus was mailed an agenda of the 9-13-82 Council Meeting. ,7o Ellen Hurr announced she notified Mr. Wm. Sime of the special meeting. No members of the public present. PUBLIC HEARING-BIG ISLAND REZONING Butler moved, Frahm seconded, to approve the Public Hearing for Big Island Rexoning to be held October 25 , 1982 at 7 :00 P.M. in the Orono Council Chambers . Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . CITY ASSESSOR DISCUSSION City Administrator Dick Benson, reviewed with the City Council the intent to proceed with employing a City Assessor. A resolution will be submitted no later than February 1 , 1983 for council approval . Procedures that will follow will be to advertise , interview, and arrange for a selection committee to interview selected applicants. The intent of the City is to notify Hennepin County of the City' s intent to terminate the existing contract in 1984 or at an earlier date if a qualified assessor is available. LAKE ACCESS COMMITTEE MEETING-SEPT. 21 , 1982 City Administrator Benson announced to the Council . information regarding the Lake Access Meeting of September 21 , 1982 , 7 :30 P.M., at the Orono Council CAPITAL OUTLAY PURCHASE Chambers. COMPACT PICK-UP TRUCK Hurr moved, Butler seconded, to approve the Capital Outlay Purchase of a Compact Pick-up for the Street Department. Motion , Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . L.M,C.D. LETTER Hurr moved , Butler seconded, to approve City Adr�inistrator Benson' s letter to the L.M.C . D.
