CITY OF ORONO <br /> Regular Meeting of the Orono Council, 7 : 00 P.M. <br /> November 24 , 1980 <br /> The Orono Council met on tfie above date with the <br /> following members present: Mayor Van Nest, Council- <br /> members Butler, Hannah, Hurr, and Paurus. Also <br /> present: City Planner Olson, Zoning Administrator � <br /> Mabusth, City Attorney Mal.kerson, Public Works <br /> Coordinator Gerhardson, City Engineer Cook and City � . <br /> Clerk Strom. Absent : City Administrator Benson� <br /> Mayor Van Nest announced that now was the time and PUBLIC HEARING <br /> place for the Public Hearing concerning the CDBG PROGRAM <br /> Community Development Block Grant Program. The Notice " <br /> of Public Hearing and the Affidavit of Publication <br /> were presented. <br /> Larry Blackstad, Hennepin County, and Howard <br /> Meagher, Orono ' s representative to the CDBG <br /> Planning Committee, were present. <br /> Mr . Blackstad explained the purpose of the program <br /> and the rehabilitation program. He also stated that <br /> a bookkeeping action was necessary for a transfer of <br /> $75 from Year II to Year IV because of being over <br /> expended. <br /> Howard Meagher reviewed past expenditures of the <br /> Program. <br /> After all persons present were afforded an opportunity <br /> to be heard, Mayor Van Nest closed the public hearing <br /> at 7 : 15 P.M. <br /> Mayor Van Nest moved, Butler seconded, to reallocate <br /> $75 from Year II to Year IV to cover a deficiet on <br /> conference and planning for the Community Development <br /> Block Grant Program. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0 ) . <br /> Mayor Van Nest also stated that a Public Hearing will <br /> be called for the first meeting in January, 1981 to re- <br /> allocate unused funds. <br /> At 8 : 00 P.M. , Mayor Van Nest opened the public PUBLIC INFORMATION <br /> information meeting concerning the Orono/Long Lake MEETING <br /> water system matter. Orono/Long Lake Water <br /> Representatives from Washington Scientific and <br /> Van Dale were present. <br /> Mayor Van Nest explained the matter of the Long <br /> Lake water system problem to the audience stating <br /> that some options could be private wells or the <br /> possibility of private connections to the Long Lake <br /> system. <br /> (Continued) <br />
