SPECIAL ORONO COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 14 , 1980 Page 37 <br /> Steve Quincey, City Engineer , reviewed his letter COST OVERRUNS <br /> dated August 14 , 1980 , explaining the LS-1980-1 and <br /> LS-1980-2 cost overruns. <br /> Letter - Page 38 � <br /> Dick Benson, City Administrator, read his letter <br /> to the affected property owners in the LS-1980-1 <br /> and LS-1980-2 sewer project notifying them of a <br /> public information meeting on August 20 , 1980 at <br /> 7 : 30 P.M. and reminding them of the assessment <br /> hearing on September 8 , 1980 at 7 : 30 P .M. <br /> Letter - August 14 , 1980 <br /> "The City of Orono has received the bids for in- <br /> stalling sanitary sewer in your area. <br /> The bids were considerably higher than the engineer ' s <br /> estimate, therefore, the Orono Council has designated <br /> August 20 , 1980 at 7: 30 P.M. as a public information <br /> meeting to inform you of the status of the project <br /> and to get your impact as an affected property owner . <br /> The assessment hearing will be held on Monday, <br /> September 8 , 1980 at 7 :30 P.M. at the Orono Council <br /> Chambers. You will be receiving an assessment notice <br /> prior to that meeting. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br /> Mayor Van Nest informed the City Council that he FARVIEW LAKE ACCESS <br /> received a call from Mr . Harold Hendrickson, <br /> attorney representing Mr. & Mrs. Gibbs, commenting <br /> that a vehicle had left the lake access road <br /> located next to the Farview Addition and had caused <br /> damage to resident ' s property nearby and asked if <br /> a temporary gate or fence could be installed. <br /> Paurus moved, Hurr seconded, to authorize staff to <br /> install a temporary gate . This action not to <br /> preclude future resolving of the lake access matter , <br /> but to immediately control vehicular traffic until <br /> premanent action is taken. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . <br />
