'' REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JULY 28 , 1980 Page. 2 <br /> Joe Anderlik, Consulting Engineer, reviewed with PUBLIC HEARING <br /> the attending public a summary of the 1980 water Utility Rates <br /> and sewer rate study and its impact upon current (Continued) <br /> utility costs. <br /> Letter - July 24 , 1980 <br /> "Enclosed please find the latest revision of the <br /> summary sheets for the 1980 Water and Sewer Rate <br /> Study. These summary sheets are somewhat abbreviated <br /> and includes only the alternatives which the Council <br /> to date has indicated that they would approve. <br /> "We will prepare a handout for the public hearing <br /> which will basically consist of Sheets 1 , 2, and 5 <br /> of the enclosure. It is suggested that you include <br /> a sheet showing your expenditures and receipts <br /> indicating your losses and showing the need for <br /> the rate increases. " <br /> End of letter <br /> 1980 Rate Study Report - Pages 3-� <br /> Public Information Handout - Pages 8-10 <br /> Mr. Anderlik discussed excessive infiltration and <br /> the impact this has on metered sewer flows charged <br /> to the City of Orono by the Metropolitan Waste <br /> Control Commission. <br /> Concerns noted by the attending public were : <br /> 1. Senior citizen relief <br /> 2 . Fair and equitable charges <br /> 3 . What percentage of the total users are commercial <br /> and industrial connections <br /> After all persons present were afforded an opportunity <br /> to be heard, Mayor Van Nest closed the public hearing <br /> at 8 :25 P.M. <br />
