Olson, Village Planner <br /> DATE: July 22 , 1980 <br /> SUBJECT: Community Management Plan - �Followup <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The Community I�ianagement Plan is intended to be a living document to <br /> be used on a regular basis whenever questions of policy, land use, or <br /> City philosophy arise. Do not hesitate to refer to it, to quote it, <br /> or to question it. The book is intended to be annually reviewed and <br /> updated if necessary so changes, additions or suggestions should be <br /> referred to me as they may arise. <br /> STATUS <br /> The Community Management Plan was formally approved and adopted by the <br /> Planning Commission on May 19, 1980. It was accepted by the Council <br /> and transmitted to the Metropolitan Council on June 2, 1980 with <br /> distribution being done on June 25, 1980. <br /> The City Council is not permitted to formally adopt this Plan until <br /> after receipt of approval from the Metropolitan Council. Formal <br /> Metropolitan Council review cannot be made until after receipt of <br /> review letters from all other affected units of government, or six <br /> months, whichever occurs first. Thus formal plan approval by the <br /> City •Council may not occur before 3anuary or February, 1981. - In the <br /> interim, we are still following the 1974 Comprehensive Plan with <br /> unofficial reference to the new book. <br /> DISTRIBUTION , <br /> Plans were sent to the following agencies for official review: <br /> Metropolitan Council: 7 copies <br /> 2�iWCC, MCT�TD, LMCD, HSWCD <br /> Piinnesota DNR, DOT and PCA <br /> Hennepin County (Planning, Park Reserve & DOT) <br /> Cities: Tonka Bay, Mound, Independence, Medina, Plymouth, <br /> Minnetonka Beach, Spring Park, Minnetrista, Maple <br /> Plain, Long Lake and Wayzata <br /> School Districts: Minnetonka, Westonka, Orono, Wayzata, and <br /> 287 Hennepin Technical Center <br /> Plans were distributed to all Council Members, all Planning and Park <br /> Co�nission members, and all City Department Heads. The Clerk has two <br /> copies on permanent record and another is in the City library. <br />
