As .stated earlier, we are currently conducting re-
levant• udies on previously requested areas an will make certain that the items
identified in your esolution are included. Basd on our kncwlege oi campus plans
° and service possibilities, we do feel at this time that }our concrns can be favor-
ably addresse. - - - - - - _
Tli decision of the co;.incil to adopt this resolution was most unfortunate since
several of tne assumntions listed are actually inaccurate and at times incon-
.sistent and unequally applied. In the absence of pertinent information, con-
clusions appear to have Ueen reached basea on nisinformation and speculation o
est Crpus plans, needs and ipact. The Orono City Council has yet to hsve been
r presented with information on West Campus operations from which one couli determine
; the extent of municipal service needs, urban/rural nature, possible developrent
, inducement or consYstency with community planning. Thus far we have or_ly hared
a long raiige conceptural plan believed to be implemented sometime in the arly
 - 1980's using data from our north and souh campuses and hae a.:ked that the
possibility of a West Campus be included in yor comprehensive plans, eGpecially
as they relate to the Possibility of a sewer -interceptor to the area of tlie site.
Several possibilities do exist which would lessen and in some cases eliiniate the
i municipal service denands assumed in ttie resolution. Likewise, to arrive at a
conGlsion tTat the West Campus would be "developnent inclucin" certaj_nly reyulres
more j.nformztion than presently considered. This has not been the case at eiher
 our norCh or south campus.
