Fenholt, Business Manager Orono Independent School District 278 685 Old Crystal Bay Road Long Lake, Minnesota 55356 Dear Mr. Fenholt: Thank you for forwarding Mayor Gallagher' s letter to me regarding the water and sewer agreement between the City of Long Lake and the City of Orono dated February 8, 1980 . As I commented to you in my letter of January 14 , 1980, which included my letter to Long Lake dated August 29, 1978, the City of Orono has requested- a meeting with Long Lake to discuss their intentions. In reviewing the files on the sewer and water agreement, it contains issues raised since the agreement was signed, which was in 1967. In 1968, the issue of utility rates concerning the operation of the water booster stations were raised, which were not resolved until an arbitrator was appointed to the case in 1971. The issue again was raised in 1975 and was resolved in 1976 . February, 1978, I was notified that the Long Lake City Council discussed proposed changes to the water and sewer agreement again requesting Orono to assume the costs to operate the water booster station in Long Lake, which also provides additional water pressure to the Long Lake industrial area, as well as the Orono School complex. A meeting with Long Lake was requested but it was learned that the matter was resolved. On July 18, 1978, the City of Orono was informed that the sewer and water agreement will be terminated pursuant to paragraph 3. 6 (e) on the thi.rd anniversary date following receipt of the letter.
