"'he
City Council action was not to extend the present
lease beyond the termination date which is
December l, 1980.
The City Council' s action was based uoon housing
requirernents that are presently prevalent and
the need to expand our present facilities into
that building.
As I discussed with you, we would be receptive t
discussing with vou other arrangements that riight
be available to accommodate the present post office
operation, if you are seeking alternatives.
I was surprised to hear that the postal deartment
does not involve itself in purchasing leased
property, as the Crystal Bay Post Off_ice, when
that property is entered on the rlarket. It would
apPear to me that if an operation is solvent, it
would be wise to purchase that roperty if other
propertU is not available in the area.
I , and Payor Van Pdest, would be available at your
convenience to discuss this matter further. "
End of letter
Council PZeeting - December 11, 1979
P2ayor Van Nest corunented that he and Dick Aenson
r.et with PZr. Van Sickle and Pr.
