REGULAR I4EETING OI' "'HE ORONO COUNCIL, P101rBER 27 , 1979 Page 17
Before we proceed with this step, I must caution P4UNICIPAL NEEDS LIST
the Council that the six areas surveyed are not (Continued)
all included as .future study areas in our existinc
Comprehensive Sewer Plan. Specificall, the
Stubbs Bay areas are not part of the most recent
plan. I have not been involved with Orono' s
negotiations with P[JCC regarding our Comprehensive
Sewer Plan and the PUSA Line. Staff needs Council
direction for the next step in this sensitive matter.
The possible alternatives are:
l. Send copies of all six surveys to rZetro Council
and MWCC; i.e. proceed as requested.
2. Drop one or more of the studv areas due to conflict
with existing Corlprehensive Sewer Plan, and
send surveys for the remaining areas, mhis
will likely result in local fundinc of any future
projects in the areas dropped, including alternate
comrmunity drainfields.
3. Drop the whole idea of trying to cet on the MNT,
and use local funding for all future projects
as necessary.
4. Other alternatives?
Council rseetinq - rdovermber 27 , 1979
Paurus moved, P4ayor Van Nest seconded, to approve
the above memo from Piichael Gaffron, Septic System
Inspector, concerning lace-nP.azt of unsewered areas
on the Municipal Needs List. rZotion, Ayes (3) -
Nays (0) .
Michael Gaffron, Septic System Inspector, presented NORTH SHORE DRIVE SE7F:F
the City Council with a memo regarding holding
a public information meeting to discuss sewer
problems at North Shore Drive area, dated Pdovember 19 ,
1979 , which states:
Based on generally a favorable response both verbally
and through questionnaire returns , I am recommending
that we call a public inforr.mation r.meeting for sometime
in PloverLber or early December to discuss alternative
solutions to the sewer problems on North Shore Drive.
The properties involved are shown on the attached
sheet. Iae would handle this meeting much the same
as the one for Psinnetonka Bluffs/West Ferndale.
