In many cases, the systems were found to be in <br /> relatively poor condition due to age, lack of maintenance , poor <br /> construction, or more often due to poor soil and water table conditions. <br /> In fact, in a few cases the drainfields are barely functional, being <br /> under water or in very impermeable clay soils . There are some lots <br /> where no repairs or reconstruction will be possible. The only solution <br /> for these may be holding tanks (pump out weekly or as needed) and <br /> � timately extension of municipal sewer. <br /> The area affected is from Scotch Pine Lane to Old Crystal Bay Road on ' ' <br /> the south side of North Shore Drive. I am enclosing a questionnaire , � <br /> I hope you will return to me as soon as possible with your feelings � <br /> regarding septic system problems and the idea of installing a sewer ' <br /> lateral to serve your home. At this point, we have not even considered � <br /> a sewer project, and probably will not unless you as a citizen step � <br /> forward and ask for one. � <br /> I would be happy to set up a meeting with you and your neighbors to <br /> discuss septic system problems and alternative solutions for your <br /> area.
