Da��ton for <br /> his generous offer but based upon our efforts to W <br /> maintain a uniformity in our land use planning, <br /> it would not be to the advantage of the City nor <br /> Psr. Bruce <br /> Dayton for a financial contribution for the develop- <br /> ment of the property he has donated to the City of <br /> Orono. <br /> The City Council stated that they have not as yet <br /> determined a use for the property and that it would <br /> be necessary to do research, possi�ly by the Park <br /> Cor.u;►ission, before accepting the proposed of�er. <br /> Dick Benson, City Adrlinistrator, inf_ormed the City NOR'�'H SHORE HOUSTTdr <br /> Council that the following letter was rlailed to DRO(=��i* <br /> the City of Long Lake, Citv of Minnetonka Beach, <br /> and Larry Blackstad on :August 24 , 1979 : <br /> "As a participant in the Community DeveloDment Block <br /> Grant Program, ��ou are undoubtedly aware of the <br /> requirements that are required by H.U.D. (F�ousing & <br /> Urban Development) . <br /> One of the requirements of the Year V Prograri that <br /> we are now participating in, is that we must develop <br /> and submit a three-vear program. Participatinq <br /> comrlunities in Planning Area #5, as yours, are <br /> receiving approximately the same amount of funding <br /> frori H.U.D, and because of tightening regulations, <br /> several communities are poolinq their funds for one <br /> housing project. The goal is to provide housing <br /> for c�ualified low income people. <br /> (Continued) <br />
