Alan Olson, City Planner, presented the City FIRE CODE A1�1ErdDrSENTS <br /> Council with a memo concerning fire code amendments <br /> dated August 21, 1979 , which states: <br /> On June 12, 1979 , a moratorium was ordained that <br /> prohibits new flar.imable liquid tank installation <br /> on residential property. This is due to expire <br /> on September 12 , 1979. <br /> Without further action, the adopted fire code <br /> standards will then be applicable throughout <br /> Orono. These set standards for proper tank design, <br /> venting, dispensing, and minimal setbacks based <br /> upon capacity. Unlimited storage volume would be � <br /> permitted on any lot, in any neighborhood. <br /> Setbacks are established by NFPA Standards, adopted <br /> by reference in the Fire Code. �2FPA 30, flammables: <br /> 275 Gal. or less = 10 ft. ; 276-750 gal. = 20 ft. ; <br /> 751-12 , 000 gal. = 30 ft. ; etc. ; i1FPA 58, LP�: 125-500 <br /> gal. = 10 ft. ; 501-2,000 gal. = 25 ft. ; etc. <br /> (Continued) <br />
