We have heard cor.tments from the public who are concerned that if they are forced to haul gas back and forth in five gallon cans rather than storage in qualified tanks, we are creating a serious hazard. I believe we should be reviewing setback requireMents when considering amendr.lents regarding flammable liquid storage. After all persons present had an opportunity to be heard, the public hearing was closed at 7: 45 P.M. Butler r.loved, r4ayor Van Nest seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 223 Ordinance No. 223, An Ordinance Adding Chapter 19 State Fire Code To The Orono P�iunicipal Code Regarding Fire Protection, Fire Prevention And Adopting The Minnesota Uniform Fire Code With Amendments, And Repealing Ordinance No. 108. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0) . Mayor Van Nest moved, Hurr seconded, to add amend- ments to the fire code prohibiting storage of flammable liquids 50' from occupied residential units and 50' from adjacent residential properties. Discussion followed. Mayor Van Nest moved, Hurr seconded, to withdraw the above motion.
