Council <br /> approved a $266, 400 grant to develop the Noerenberg Gardens <br /> in the City of Orono_ <br /> During the past year, the City of Orono and the Orono Comr.►ittee <br /> for the Protection of the Noerenberg ?4er.�orial Park have expressed <br /> many concerns to the Pietropolitan Council and the Hennepin County <br /> Park Reserve District regarding the development of this park and <br /> t�e use of the r�etropolitan Council ' s grant. <br /> S7e were assured by the t�letropolitan Council t�at there were <br /> several steps to be taken befbre a grant is approved, these were: <br /> � 1. Approval by P4etropolitan Parks and Open Space Commissions, <br /> and t?-�e P�3etropolitan Council to add t�e rdoerenberg Ga�dens <br /> into the Council' s Regional Recreation Open Space System Plan. <br /> 2 . Approval of master plan. <br /> 3. Approval of Capital Ir.iprover�ent Plan. <br /> 4. ApProval by affected nuniciPalities of the r�aster plan. <br /> 5. Consistency with affected City' s Comprehensive Land Use <br /> Planning and Zoning Ordinances. <br /> 6. I�otification to us of conforr:�ance to these guidelines <br /> before iunds were approved. � <br />
