Jim cor.zmented t�at the DNR <br /> does not have the pooaer to condemn pronerty and <br /> would like our assistance to obtain five acres for <br /> a par}cing site in the area. <br /> I informed Jim that by no stretch of the imagination <br /> c•�ould the City approve of a five-acre parking lot <br /> in a rural area. I advised hira to reconsider his <br /> request �vith the option of a one-tc-two acre naximun <br /> area to include natural buffer zones with an approved <br /> landscape design. I also recoru�ended to hir.1 that <br /> this parking lot be located contiguous to the trail <br /> and not a r�ile away with a connecting trail to the <br /> present DidR nulti-use trail, as he originally <br /> outlined to me. <br /> Council Ileeting - APril 3, 1979 <br /> 2�r. Glenn Cook, City Engineer, discussed the <br /> parking lot for the Luce Line Trail for the DPdR <br /> at the ring route site. He stated that i4r. Jir► <br /> I31oer1endahl of the DNR had basically selected <br /> two possible locations for the lot. One is south <br /> of the Luce Line Trail at the Ski Tonka property <br /> and the other at the Schmidt property. He stated <br /> that the State will pay for the land except the <br /> 4. 6 acres to be replaced by Orono. <br /> I�r. Glenn Cook, City Engineer, stated that a permit RING ROUTE - <br /> regarding the ring route construction was sent to <br /> the IZinnehaha Creek PJatershed District and that no <br /> problems are anticipated. <br /> Paurus moved, Butler seconded, to declare a vacancy DECLARE COUPdCIL <br /> on the City Council due to C.
