John Gerhardson, Puhlic Taorks Coordinator, CALVARY �1E►�10RIAL CHURCH presented the following memo to the City Council Sewer Charges concerning sewer service charges for Calvary Menorial Church, dated Deceriber 7, 1978, which states : In July 1978, the Elizabeth Gardener School at 2420 Dunwoody Avenue was purchased bv the Calvary ��iemorial Church formerly located at the intersection of Shadywood Road and Shoreline Drive. The Elizabeth Gardener School is now being used as a church only. On October 27, 1978, the City of Orono received from the Calvary D4er:lorial Church a request to review the sewer service charge, explaining that the present use of the building has been reduced considerably; therefore, the sewer service charge should also be . reduced. City Planner Alan Olson and myself have researched the matter and have deterr_►ined that, in fact; the use of the building has been reduced. L�e feel that the sewer service charge should be reduced from 30 units per quarter to three units per quarter. On Decerlber 6 , 1978, City Planner Alan Olson and � mvself inet with P4r. Neil Bergstrom, Chairr_man of the ' Board of Trustees, and P-ir. Floyd Larsen, Treasurer of Calvary Meriorial Church, to explain that it will be our recommendation to the Orono Council that the above mentioned reduction in rate be applied to 2420 Dunwoody Avenue until such time that either the use of the building changes or the City revises its policy on setting se�ver service charges. Mr. Bergstrom and P+Ir. Larsen agreed with the chan_qe and assured us that they would most certainly notify the City of any projected change in the use of the building or property. Therefore, Mr. Olson ana myself are recomr.iending that the sewer service charge at 2420 Dunwoody Avenue be reduced fror.l 30 units per quarter to three units per quarter effective October 1, 1978.
