REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JUNE 15, 1978 Page 39
,
I have been in touch with Mr. Gerhardson NORTH STAR MARINA
regarding this, but he and the chief checked (Continued)
it out during the week when the lake traffic
is light. They also were looking at the
situation on the marina side of the road.
Even then, we get cars parking in front of
our property and it makes it difficult to get
on to the road due to the fast driving on
the "S" stretch of the road fror.l Bohn's Point
Road to the Boy Scout Road.
Mr. Gerhardson said it has to be approved by
the Council and the application made to
Hennepin County Highway Department for place-
ment of a sign in this area.
I shall continue to bring these matters up, but
hope eventually the necessary steps will be taken
to correct the problems so that our property will
not suffer from the sloppy operation of the North
Star Ptarina. "
End of letter
Lake Minnetonka Conservation District letter to
North Star Marina, dated June 7, 1978, states:
"The LMCD Board of Directors at its regular meeting
of Apri1 26, 1978, reviewed your application for
a 1978 multile dock license, and upon recommendation
of the Boat Storage, Mooring and Launching Corunittee,
denied your application for noncomliacew, ith the
length limitations of the LMCD Code.
The plan submitted provides for dockage beyond
the 200; maximum length allowable.
The District will be h:ppy to review any new proposal
meeting LMCD requirements. Please resubmit your
conforming plan promptly for consideration for
the 1978 season.
Operating a multiple dock without a license is a
viQlation.of the IMCD Code.
Should you have any questions or need assistance in
complying with the above requirements, please
contact us. "
Frank Mixa, Executive Director
(Continued)
