REGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, JiJPdE 15, 1978 Page 29 . <br /> Mr. Bruce Douglas and Mr. Steve Emmir�gs were �IARINA REPORTS <br /> present to represent North Shore Drive and Gayle's North Shore Drive Marina <br /> Marinas. <br /> Mr. Alan 'Olson, City Planner, reviewed the Marina <br /> Committee minutes of April 18, 1978 concerning <br /> North Shore Drive Marina which state: <br /> Previous Licenses: Past years licenses have been <br /> for ninety-five (95) waterward slips. In 1977, <br /> the Council reviewed dry stacking options and <br /> revised the slip determinations. Resolution #823 <br /> adopted on September 12, 1977, Item No. 6 authorized <br /> seventy-five (75) rental water slips , twenty (20) <br /> lagoon staging slips, twenty (20) rental dry slips <br /> and fifty-five (55) other boats on the property, <br /> a total of 150 boats on the marina property. The <br /> dry stacking units were erected subsequent to the <br /> adoption of Resolution #806, dated July 25, 1977, <br /> and a stipulation for settlement in the Fourth <br /> District Court, dated July 29 , 1977. The agreement <br /> at that time authorized construction of the two <br /> dry stacking storage units in return for certain <br /> � real improvements to the marina property certain <br /> restrictions on the number of boats on the property. <br /> Included was screening by fence and vegetation, <br /> the construction of baffle weirs in the lagoon <br /> to control runoff from the parking area, a limit <br /> on the use of slips in the lagoon to setups from <br /> the dry stacking storage units, and a maximum <br /> limit of 150 boat units on the property at any <br /> one given time. <br /> Current Application: The 1978 license application <br /> to the City of Orono indicates ninety-three (93) <br /> waterward slips of which seventy-five (75) were <br /> to be rental and the remaining eighteen (18) were <br /> to be repair or launch ramps set up slips. 1978 <br /> LtdCD license application indicates seventy-five <br /> (75) waterward slips. In addition, the Orflno <br /> application indicates forty-eight (48) dry slips <br /> for the 1978 season making a total of 141 boat <br /> units on the property_ Plans submitted with the <br /> application to the City and the LMCD indicate <br /> the maximum lakeward extension of the main dock <br /> at 200 ft. projection of the dock into Maxwell Bay. <br /> Committee Comments: Bruce Douglas, the applicant' s <br /> attorney, r.made the following comments: <br /> 1. The lagoon was going to be used as staging <br /> area slips only except that four slips would <br /> be used for company service boats. ` <br /> _ 2. Baffle weirs are to be constructed across the <br /> entire end of the lagoon in conformance with <br /> the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Permits <br /> and that engineering drawings were to be forth <br /> � coming for our review.
