We have <br /> been talking to potential developers , but they <br /> are slow and to date, we have no offers. The <br /> Tonka property is still for sale. The require- <br /> ment to erect a fence is unreasonable and perhaps <br /> an attempt to selectively enforce theatre <br /> ordinances. I see two problems: <br /> 1. Theatre <br /> 2. Regulate piece of land <br /> We have attempted to correct your conditions tQ � <br /> our license last year such as speakers, drinking, <br /> excessive noise, etc. and I believe we have <br /> accomplished this. I do not believe it is <br /> proper as a condition to our license to require <br /> a fence to keep out minibikes. We can install <br /> chains and posts at areas that are accessible <br /> to cars and motorbikes. - <br /> Mayor Van Nest: Our Chief of Police has told <br /> us that situations occur that the police are <br /> afraid of. <br /> Councilmember Pesek: Noise and visual barriers are <br /> what we need. <br /> Mayor Van Nest: Our records documenting <br /> problems go back to 1970. <br /> Mr. Blohm: I have reviewed police files. <br /> Mayor Van Nest: I have reviewed complaints from <br /> citizens. A fence is necessary for protection <br /> of safety, health and welfare. We can show you <br /> information that tells us that there is a probler.l. <br /> (Continued) <br />
