Nar�e <br /> + The narne of this organization shall be the Orono Human <br /> � Rights Corunission. <br /> ` Article II . Policy <br /> � It shall be the public policy of the Orono Human Rights <br /> CorUnission to fulfill its responsibility as a partner with the State <br /> � Depar unent of Hur.lan Ri�hts in securing for all citizens equal <br /> opportunity in housing, employment, public accommodations , public <br /> services, and education, and to work consistently to ir-tprove the <br /> � 3iur*ian relations climate of Orono. <br /> � Article III . P4embership <br /> � The Corunission shall consist of eight (8) merlbers <br /> appointed by the City Council with the recomr,iendations of the Human <br /> Rights Comrnission. Each shall be appointed for a term of three <br /> vears with rotating reappointments. <br /> � f <br /> � Article IV. Officers <br /> Section l. Personnel <br /> � The officers shall consist of a Chair, Vice-Chair <br /> and Recording Secretary_ <br /> . Section 2. Election and Term <br /> Officers shall be elected for a term of one year <br /> � at the regular r.ieeting of the Commission each year. <br /> � Section 3. Duties <br /> The Chair shall preside at all meetings and appoint <br /> � committee chairs . The Vice-Chair shall preside in the absence of <br /> the Chair and perform duties delegated by the Chair. The Recording <br /> - Secretary shall keep minutes of all r.�eetings. <br /> � Article V. Committees - rlembership <br /> � Section l. <br /> � The Commission Chair shall appoint comriittee chairs <br /> when the need occurs. <br /> � Section 2. Committee Secretary <br /> � Each Cor�unittee Chair shall appoint a Cornmittee <br /> � Secretary from the cornmittee r-�er.mbership who shall be responsible <br /> for recording minutes of the meetings. <br /> � - <br /> � <br />
