• hi:GULIR i1EETING OF TIiE OROPJO COliP1CIL, PIO'E"1I3ER 14 , 1977 Page 15
 i1r. 711an Olson, Assistant Building & 7oning SUBDIVISIOPI
Ic31inistrator, entered into the, record the 4470 & 4480 I'orest Lak
f_ollowing information concerning a subdivision Landing
request of Bernhard Reiling (Lou Oberhauser) - ##324
` 4470 & 4480 Forest Lake Landing, dated October 13, I3ernhard Reiling
! 1977, which states :
Lots 3 & 9 , as currently platted, are occupied
by to residences. One residence is located on
the lot line. Both properties ere previously
cmed by Bernhard Reiling. aithin the past three
years , the Halms purchased, under a contract for
deed, the residence to the south with a meets
and bounds description of the land. The Johnsons
have purchased the property to the north under a
sirilar agreement.
w
Th purchasers have recently considered fulfilling
the contract but learned that the parcels as
• described are not recorded with the County. There-
fore, neither property has clear title and all
parties involved are having problems. Pr. Oberhauser,
representing P4r. Reiling, has subrlitted an application
for subdividing these properties so both titles
can be cleared and all parties satisf_ied.
f
Combining these lots would only result in two
residences on one parcel. Although the proposed
! rearrangerient is in conflict with our Policies
and ordinances, it appears to be the best solution.
« I want to call your attention to another situation
which currently exists in this same area. Lot 7
(also substandard) is located adjacent to Lot 8.
• Lot 7 is also occupied by a structure which appears
vacant. SoMe renovation or restoration might be
necessary if it were to be used as a residence. I
, have received some inquiries from parties if the
structure could be purchased and r.►oved to other
locations as a garage. I caas also asked about
City policy regarding ter.lporary residence in this
r structure during construction of a new residence.
I somewhat sense that I caill be approached in
S the near future about the possibilities of obtain-
ing a variance to build a new residence on this
substandard Lot 7. I believe we should address
• the issue. I have been informed that Lot 7 is
currently owned by either a son or daughter o_f
 the Ilalr.ls.
I have forwarded copies of the proposed rearrange-
ment along with request for cor.u:ents to the City
1ldministrator, City Attorney, City Encineer, and
 ity Public •7orks Coordinator.
