The area has filled <br /> in over the years so that it is no longer under <br /> � water, but is instead, weed infested and hard to <br /> • maintain. The area was obviously man-made and <br /> has naturally filled to the existing state. <br /> ` It appears that a continuation of the stone <br /> riprapping would be easily accomplished and that <br /> � filling and sodding behind it could then be done <br /> with little worry about siltation. <br /> � <br /> ` Planning Commission Meeting - August l, 1977 <br /> • Expressed concern about authorizing any filling <br /> in the lakeshore area, but felt that this situation <br /> � was unique in that it is a restoration of a <br /> natural situation rather than creation of any- <br /> � thing new. Recommended approval subject to <br /> applicant riprapping shoreline prior to any <br /> � �illing and that the City Engineer approve the <br /> • _cceptable types of fill. <br /> � Staff - August 4 , 1977 <br /> � Discussion with Greg Frank, City Engineer, <br /> indicates that most any clean fill material would <br /> • be satisfactory provided it is properly placed <br /> . and is not too granular (i.e. clay soil is <br /> better than sand) . <br /> Council r•ieeting - August 8, 1977 <br /> � Butler moved, Pesek seconded, to approve the <br /> � request of Theodore Metz, 4300 North Shore Drive, <br /> for a variance to the moratorium Ordinance No. 192 <br /> � and a conditional use permit and variance under <br /> ` Ordinance No. 125 for filling, subject to the . <br /> Engineer' s report of August 4 , 1977, and per <br /> Planning Commission minutes of August 1, 1977. <br /> � Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0) . <br /> � <br /> � <br /> � <br /> � <br /> � <br /> � <br /> � <br />
