� , , <br /> • ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 28 , 1977 Page 30 <br /> � Dick Benson, City Administrator, informed the City DiINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHE] <br /> Council of the following letter from the P4innehaha DISTRICT P�IEETING <br /> �Creek Watershed District dated February 24 , 1977: <br /> � As you know, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District <br /> � has been petitioned by the Lake Minnetonka Conser- <br /> vation District to investigate the feasiblility <br /> + of the creation of upland surface water storage and <br /> retention areas in the Lake PZinnetonka drainage <br /> �► basin. The preliminary study of the project has <br /> been completed by the engineer for the watershed <br /> � district and will be the subject of a public hearing <br /> • to be held this spring. Subsequent to the public <br /> hearing, the Board of PZanagers of the watershed <br /> � district is required by law to make a determination <br /> as to whether the project would be in the public <br /> � interest. <br /> � The Board of Managers of the watershed district <br /> would like to arrange meetings with representatives <br /> � of each municipality or other governmental sub- <br /> � division potentially affected by the project, which <br /> is the reason for this letter. We will make <br /> ` available representatives of the Board of Managers <br /> and of the watershed district engineer' s office <br /> � to meet with whatever elected officials and staff <br /> personnel you think would be appropriate, to discuss <br /> the implications of the petitioned project. �aould <br /> • ou please contact either myself at 920-3585 or <br /> John Holmguist of the engineer' s office at 473-4224 so <br /> �, that we can arrange for a mutually convenient time <br /> to meet.
