Robert Isaccson, staff planner representing URBAN HENNEPIN COUi:� <br /> The Housing & Development Program stated that COP3T�IUTdITY DEVELOP�IEN'�' <br /> the time is rapidly approaching when Hennepin <br /> County must be prepared to submit the Urban <br /> ,� County application for grant money under the <br /> Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. <br /> � <br /> For the 1975 program year, 2i cities in Hennepin <br /> � County received over $700,000 in Community <br /> � Development Grants to meet local objectivesa <br /> This was accomplished through cooperation <br /> y agreements between each participating city and <br /> the Countya Together the participants constitute <br /> � an "Urban County" and therefore are entitled <br /> to a Community Development Grant from the U.S, <br /> � Department of Housing and Urban Developmento <br /> For the 1976 program year, the entitlement <br /> � ��ill likely be in excess of $1,500,000. <br /> � Cooperating in the Urban County CDBG program <br /> � does not commit your City to undertake �rogram <br /> �tivities, You may wish to join the program <br /> " , _t this time and elect to execute a project <br /> in subsequent yearso Such an action �aould tend <br /> � to increase the Urban County entitlement and benefit <br /> other participants in the 1976 program year while <br /> reserving an entitlement for your City the next year. <br /> (Continued) <br />
