Absent: Mayor Searles. Also <br /> • � present: City Administrator Benson and <br /> Assistant Public �aorks Supervisor Carlson. <br /> � <br /> � The Canvassing Board composed of City Council <br /> � members Massengale, Butler, Paurus, and Welsh <br /> reviewed all tally sheets concerning the <br /> � November 4, 1975 City Election. <br /> 7 It was brought to the attention of the Canvassing <br /> Board by City Administrator Dick Benson that <br /> � 23 votes were registered on the printout sheet <br /> � left in automatic voting machine #162606 from <br /> the previous election of Precinct #2. P�r. Bill <br /> � Carlson, Voting Machine Custodian, stated that <br /> although machine #162606 had a printout sheet <br /> � left in it from a previous election, the 23 votes <br /> were not included in the final tally of 89 persons <br /> voting for this election in that machine. The <br /> ' protective counter at the opening of the polls <br /> read 01980 and at the closing of the polls, <br /> � read 02069 , which allows that machine, 89 persons <br /> voting. The public counter also registered, <br /> � that machine #162606 was activated 89 times for <br /> voting purposes. After reviewing this information <br /> � with the printout sheet, it was determined <br /> by the Canvassing Board that this information <br /> r was accurate. <br /> � It was also brought to the attention of the <br /> � Canvassing Board by the City Administrator <br /> that on October 7, 1975, Mr. Francis Neison <br /> � and Mrs. Ruth Nelson, 3844 Cherry Avneue, <br /> applied for absentee ballots for the P7ovember 4, <br /> .� 1975 City Election to �e mailed to them at <br /> 42365 Kansas, Palm Desert, California, 92260. <br /> r <br /> ' On October 23, 1975 , Bill Carlson picked up the <br /> ballots from the printers and Alberta Strom, <br /> � Election Clerk, subsequently mailed two <br /> individual envelopes with the ballots and <br /> � return envelopes enclosed to Mr. & Mrs. Nelson. <br /> � Election Day, November 4, 1975, when the absentee <br /> ballots were picked up from the Crystal Bay <br /> • Post Office, where they are held in the safe <br /> � until Election Day, the unmailed ballots for <br /> Francis and Ruth Nelson were with the returned <br /> � absentee ballots. <br /> � <br /> � <br />
