ORONO COUNCIL YIEETING HELD OCTOBER 27, 1975 Page 16
r1r, Henry P•Zuhich, Building & Zoninc Administrator, PARK DEDICATION FEES
ydiscussed consideration of revising the current
l0a park dedication fee stating that our
• present platting procedures require a park
dedication fee of 1/10 the area or l00 of the
raca land value of the affected property.
Applicants of several recent subdivisions have
questioned this palicy. They feel the extent of
the subdivision should be taken into consideration,
•
On reviewing the matter, I feel we should consider
some changes. At present, a developer is assessed
the identical fee regardless of the extent of
his proposalo 6Ve might consider our open space
r policy and assess developers on a basis of the
extent of each subdivision proposal. Our ark
dedication fee could be based at a ratio of the
extend of the subdivisiono A fraction of the
fee equal to the fraction of the extent of the
 proposed subdivision.
S tae might also consider extending the same policy
on subdivision proposals requesting denser
development than the zoning at the time of
applicationv
Tayor Searles stated that in an open space area
there is not the demand for parks as there is in
i dense type developed areas and that there should
be a middle ground when establishing park
*, dedication fees. It was recommended that this
be reviewed at a joint meeting with the City
r Council and Commissions,
IIr, Henry iTuhich, Building & Zoning Aclministrator, AZULTIPLE DWELLINGS
• reported to the City Council that the Planning
Commission has not had sufficient time to revieca
« the multiple dwelling zoning ordinancea.
i Searles moved, tlelsh seconded, to designate JOIAIT AZEETING
December 10, 1975, 7e30 P,T2. as a joint meeting
! of the City Council and Planning Commission to
• review the multi-dwelling zoning ordinance and
park dEdication fees. Tiotionp Ayes (4) - Nays (0) .
•
Paurus moved, Welsh seconded, to adopt the proposed PROCEDURE CHANGES
procedure changes for the Planning Commission Planning Commission
as proosed by the Building & Zoning Administrator
and approvea by the Planning Commission establishing
tao action meetings each month, PZotion, Ayes (4) -
ays (0) e

r
