<br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING
<br /> COMPREHENSIVE I�ZUNICIPAL PLAN
<br /> i WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the r4innesota Statutes empowers the
<br /> City of Orono to prepare and adopt a comprehensive municipal plan, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has prepared the Comprehensive
<br /> Plunicipal Plan which includes a compilation of policy statements, goals,
<br /> standards, and maps for guiding the physical, social and economic
<br /> development, both private and public, of the municipality and its
<br /> env2rons, and
<br /> I�iHEREAS, the Planning Commission and the City Council reviewed
<br /> the proposed Comprehensive Municipal Plan, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing thereon
<br /> pursuant to legal notice on August 26, 1974 and thereafter adopted and
<br /> transmitted the plan to the City Council, and
<br /> ��HEREAS, the City Council submitted the proposed plan to the
<br /> Metropolitan Council for written comment and recommendation on August 28,
<br /> 1974, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has submitted their official
<br /> comments and recommendations,
<br /> - NOW THEREFORE, the City Council adopts the attached Comprehensive
<br /> ! Guide Plan, including the references and source materials incorporated
<br /> herein, as the Comprehensive Municipal Plan of the City.
<br /> FURTHERr�ORE, WHEREAS, Chapter 462 of the Minnesota Statutes
<br /> empowers the City to enact a zoning ordinance and to provide for its
<br /> administration, enforcement and amendment, and
<br /> [��IiEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary, for the purpose
<br /> of promoting health, safety, order, convenience, propserity and general
<br /> welfare of the City to enact a zoning ordinance to make different
<br /> regulations for different districts and to change use district boundaries
<br /> in order to carry out the purposes of the Comprehensive P4unicipal Plan
<br /> and the aforesaid Statute,
<br /> N04,1 THEREFORE, the City Council will take immediately those
<br /> steps necessary to review the proposed amendments to the present zoning
<br /> ordinance, hold a public hearing thereon, and thereafter enact such an
<br /> � ordinanceo
<br /> Passed by the Orono Council this 2nd day of Decer.�ber, 1974 by
<br /> a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays.
