John Guthrie, Chairman of the Planning PLANNING CONit�IISSION <br /> Commission, read into the T�inutes a letter <br /> from the Planning Commission reviewing the <br /> approval received from the Metropolitan Council <br /> concerning the Comprehensive Guide Plane He <br /> also reviewed and read into the Minutes six <br /> City Council approved changes to the Comprehensive <br /> Guide Plan and six recommendations related to <br /> future planning. <br /> The Village� has rece'ived a letter from the <br /> T�tetropolitan Council dated November 20, 1974 , <br /> � informing us that at their November 7, 1974 <br /> meeting, the Pietropolitan Council had approved <br /> the Orono Comprehensive Guide Plan. <br /> � It is important to n�te that this anproval was <br /> based upon an extensive staff review dated <br /> • October 25, 1974, of which the following <br /> . excerpt is fundamentale <br /> � "The committee will note that the major discussion METROPOLITAN COUNCIL <br /> of the plan review revolves around Orono's LETTER <br /> � expressed desire and intent to remain a low <br /> density residential community.
