The survey should show proposed location of erosion control (silt fence).
2. Survey should include a north arrow.
3. The retaining walls should be clearly marked top of wall (TW) and bottom of wall (BW) and include the full
elevation. I believe the abbreviated numbers included with the survey indicate the elevation of the top and
bottom of the retaining wall. Since the retaining wall east of the proposed house exceeds 4' in height, the
applicant will need to submit engineered plans and specifications signed by a registered professional engineer.
Jesse Struve, PE
Director of Public Works/City Engineer
City of Orono
(952) 249-4661- Direct
(952) 249-4616- Fax
www.ci.orono.mn.us
From: Melanie Curtis
Sent: Thursday, July 25, 2013 1:47 PM
To: 'Ethan Kindseth'
Cc: Christine Mattson
Subject: RE: 180 Kintyre Lane/ 2013-00582
Ethan
If the retaining walls are shown on the proposed plan we will require engineered plans prior to the permit. I forwarded
your email to Jesse Struve, our engineer. His response is as foltows:
"The top and bottom elevations are fine. They still need to add the erosion control and include engineered plans/
specifications for the walls since they exceed 4' in height."
Melanie
3
