4•'
. ' ♦` ,'
T0: Planning Commission and Council ' -' • ; i
J + ' A .
c-'', `- ,
FROM: Henry F. Muhich, Zoning Coministrator _„+ :=.
DATE: February 2, 197g .
SUBJECT: Kelly Avenue Holding Company - Joint Use Dock Application
for 1978.
Application for multiple dock license for 1978 for mooring of 6 boats.
This is for the purpose of providing dock space for each of the 6 dwelling
units in the three duplexes on the Kelly Avenue Holding Company property.
Exhibit B (sketch) - notes indicate 400' shoreline.
Exhibit C (survey) - dimensions noted on survey line adjacent to shoreline
appear to confirm the 400' shoreline.
This property is zoned LR-1B (1 acre) . Minimum lot width and shoreline
requirement is 140 ' . From the zoning standpoint only 2 docks would be_
permitted.
Some of the other agencies are currently considering regulating docks
by a shoreline footage factor. If we should adopt this policy the number
of permitted slips would vary accordingly.
PLANNING COMMISSION - February 27, 1978
Mr. Lindsay, representing the developer, was present.
The Zoning Administrator explained the proposal as submitted. He
expressed concern over the 'shoreline site plan indicating 6 individual
docks. He felt this plan could provide mooring of 12 boats on only
400 ft. of shoreline. The shoreline and lot width requirement in
this one acre zoning district is 140 ft. The total length of shoreline
on the subj ect property lacks 20 ft. from the requirement as regulated
'by our current policy.
The Planning Commission recommended approval of 3 docks for the mooring
of 6 boats. One boat for each of the 6 dwelling units in the 3
duplexes on the parcel. Each of the 3 docks would be limited to a
width of 5' 6" and a length of 25 ft.
The Planning Coission did not stipulate the. distance between the
docks or specific location of the 3 docks.
COUNCIL - March 16, 1978
Conceptually approved 6 slips per Planning Commission recommendations.
COUNCIL - March 30, 1978
Approved resolution authorizing .dock permit & license.
