b. Busway Circuits: Install separate insulated equipment ground conductor from the
ground bus to the equipment ground bar terminal on the busway.
c. Nonmetallic Raceways: Instail an insulated equipment grounding con uctor in
nonmetallic raceways except as otherwise indicated or unless they are desi ated for
telephone or data cables.
d. Metal Piping Equipment Circuits: Install a separate insulated equipment ounding
conductor to electrical devices conneted to metallic piping systems aad opera ' g at 120
V and above, including pumps, heaters, heat tracing, and surface aatifrost hea g cable.
Bond the cottductor to each such unit and to the piping.
2. Underground Conductors: Bare, tinned, stranded copper except as otherwise indicated
3. Signal and Communications: For telephone, alarm, and communication systems, pro ide a#4
AWG minimum green insulated copper conductor in racevvay from the grounding lectrode
system to each terminai cabinet or central equipment location.
4. Separately derived systems required by NEC to be grounded shall be grounded as app oved by
the authority having jurisdiction.
5. Installation, General: Ground electrical systems and equipment in accordance w NEC
except where grounding in excess of NEC requirements is iadicated.
6. Electrical Grouad Bus: Size, location, and amangement as indicated. Space 1 inch m wall
and support from wa116 inches above finished floor, except as otherwise indicated..
• Cn'°und Rods: Locate a minimum of one-rod length from each other and at least e same
distance from any other grounding electrode. Interconnect grouad rods with bare co ductors
buried at least 24 inches below grade. Connect bare-cable ground conductors to gro d rods
by means of exothermic welds except as otherwise indicated. Make these connections 'thout
damaging the copper coating or exposing the steel. Drive rods until tops are 6 inche below
finished floor or final grade except as otherwise indicated.
8. Grounding Electrode Conductor. Provide insulated copper conductor, sized as indic ted, in
conduit Bond the ground conductor conduit to the conductor at each end Where a di lectric
fittiag is installed in the main metallic water service pipe, connect tlie ground conducto to the
street side of the fitting. Do not install a grounding jumper around dielectric fittings. B nd the
ground conductor conduit to the conductor at each end.
9. Braided-Type Bonding Jumpers; Install to connect grouad clamps on water meter pi ing to
electrically bypass water meters. Use elsewhere for flexible bonding and gto ding
connections.
I0. Route grounding and bonding conductors using the shortest and straightest paths ssible
. without obstcucting access or placing conductors where they may be subjected to in,
impact,or damage,except as indicated.
CNS/US QVEST COMMUMCATIONS GRO iNG
S191lA NO.96419.16 16452-3 17 D C.%
