(FBS)was contacted by the Owners and asked to provide ' <br />� a visual inspection of the exterior of the home.Our first visit to the site was on October � <br />� 29,2007,shortly after the Owner discovered that the air exchanger had been installed ' <br /> incorrecfly and siu�ace mold was developing in one of the upstairs bathrooms.At that ' <br /> time we condueted a visual inspection of the exterior ciadding system and fenestration <br /> products.After this site visit,it was recommended that additional inspectians and testing ; <br />� be performed ' <br />� ' <br />� The following inspections were performed on November 7,2007 during Phase 1 ; <br />� investigation: j <br />� • Infrared thermography and exterior inspection.(See Photo Log-Infrared Photos) � <br /> i • Moisdtre probe inspection of the exterior sheathing. ! <br />� • Interior First Pazty inspection.(The results of this inspection are included in a ( <br />� separate report.) � <br />� ! <br />( PLase II—Moistare Probing: ! <br />� ; <br />� A total of 26 probes were performed on the home to determine moisture levels of the j <br />� sheathing behind the exterior cladding.High moisture readings can indicate a failure of ? <br />� the homes ability to properly shed water.Moisture readings of sheathing between 6—8% j <br />; considered normal.Probe locations were determined by the Phase I infrazed inspection ? <br /> and at typical locations where high readings are often found in homes of this style.Probes ' <br /> were performed with a Delmhorst BD-2100 moisture meter,which was calibrated just ; <br /> before the inspection was performed. � <br /> � <br /> s <br /> i <br /> .
