Project Description
The project is the expansion of a garage. No wetland will be impacted by the project.
Due to the steep slope, silt fence should be emplaced between the work area and the
delineated wetland.
Wetland Determination Data Form
On July 25`h, 2012, a transect was conducted at station W 1-7 (Figure & Wetlund
Determina[ion Daa Forms). The transect occurs within the property.
A soil boring was conducted at location W 1-7A, in an upland position, 30 feet east of
stake W1-7 (Figure 4 & Wetland Determinaion Data Forms). A second soil boring was
conducted at location W I-7B, in a wetland position, 30 feet west of stake W 1-7. No trees
were located within 30 feet of, either, location, and no shrubs or vines were found within
15 feet. The wetland area was dominated by reed canary grass and stinging nettle.
Kentucky bluegrass, creeping Charlie (ground ivy), and crabgrass were dominant within
5 feet of W 1-7A.
Soils within the wet(and were found to be peat (Fiure 4 8c Wetland Determinatiorr Dnta
Forms). The top 8 inches were slightly moist. Saturation was found at 8 inches, where
the peat had an increase in silt and clay. After 30 minutes, the water level was at 14
inches.
Soils within the upland area were found to be hydric and, possibly, disturbed (Figure 4 &
Wetland Determinarion Data Forms). The irregular layering, mottling, and Mg
coneretions, may indicate a fluctuating water table, side-hill seepage, sedimentation, soil
manipulation, etc. At Wl-7A, saturation was at 16 inches and the water table was at 20
inches.
DNR Protected Waters Map
See DNR Protected Water.s Map.
